Are there tryouts for the club 4x4 12U-18U teams?

Yes, we hold tryouts periodically to select club team members.

Important Dates of the 2025 Tryout Window

TRYOUT WINDOW REGULATIONS 4v4 and 6v6 2025

September 5th –Tryouts Process Begins
• Clubs are permitted to present offers to athletes who attend tryouts at any time.  
• Athletes can return offers at any time; however, all offers must be honoured until the date and time indicated below.  
September 14th 2025 @ 11:59pm – 4v4 and 6v6 offers expire. 

TRYOUT WINDOW REGULATIONS TLS to 18U 2025

September 5th –Tryouts Process Begins 
• Clubs are permitted to present offers to athletes who attend tryouts at any time.

September 12th, 2025 @ 11:59pm – 18U and TLS offers expire. 
September 13th, 2025 @ 11:59pm – 17U and 15U offers expire. 
September 14th, 2025 @ 11:59pm – 16U offers expire.

Do young athletes need to register with OVA-Ontario Volleyball Association?

INSURANCE and REGISTRATION

All Athletes, Coaches and Club personnel must register in the OVA Membership Registration System (MRS) prior to participating in any OVA or Club activity (including tryouts). This is necessary to ensure compliance with provincial concussion legislation (Rowan’s Law) and to sign off on the online waivers of liability prior to participating in any OVA related activities. Athletes must register as Tryout Players then pay the full membership fee once they accept an offer from a team. 

The MRS registration will officially open on September 1, 2025 for the 2025/26 Season

Please Note: Athletes are required to register as a tryout player (free membership) in order to tryout  with their Clubs.

Important for Athletes: Before stepping on the court for tryouts, all athletes must register as a tryout player for $0. This registration is mandatory to sign off on Rowan's Law concussion educational documents, waiver of liability, and other required forms. Your safety and compliance are our top priorities.

For Parents/Guardians: When creating your athlete's MRS account, please ensure you use their name rather than your own when setting up your athlete's account. This ensures proper registration and compliance with all required documentation.

How often are practices held?

Practices are usually held twice a week for club members.

Are there opportunities for tournaments?

Yes, we participate in local and regional tournaments throughout the year.

At least one parent or guardian of each player registered in OVA volleyball will need to complete the online RIS Parent Program only once as a condition of participation.  The program is a proactive, educational program that empowers parents with the tools to ensure the game is enjoyable and respectful for themselves, their children, and all other stakeholders in the game. To register, visit
